Sonny Vincent ist ein Punk-Pionier aus New York der Generation ’77. Seine Band Testors explodierte 1976 in der New Yorker Szene, genau im Epizentrum der Punk-Rock-Revolution.
Ihr explosiver Sound bestand aus duelldenden Gitarrenlärm, kratzigem Garage-Bashing und Sonny Vincents Straßenpoesie. Ihre frühesten Aufnahmen sind deutlich härter, lauter und verzweifelter als jede andere Musik, die zu dieser Zeit (oder danach) gemacht wurde. Testors gehörten zu den rohesten, katastrophalsten und schockierendsten Bands, die je die Bühne von Max's Kansas City oder CBGBs in der Blütezeit des Punk Mitte der 70er Jahre betreten haben.
Vincent singt und spielt seitdem weiterhin elektrische Gitarre bei Live-Auftritten vor begeistertem Publikum. Er hat mit Mitgliedern von The Stooges, The MC5, The Velvet Underground, Blondie, The New York Dolls, The Sex Pistols, The Damned, Husker Du, Television, Sonic Youth, The Voidoids, The Replacements und The Dead Boys, unter anderen, gespielt und aufgenommen.
Vincent ist derzeit das Thema eines kommenden Spielfilms des Dokumentarfilmers Danny Garcia, der zuvor über Stiv Bators und Johnny Thunders gearbeitet hat.

Sonny Vincent is a NYC ‘77 punk pioneer.His band Testors erupted on the New York scene at the epicenter of the punk rock explosion in 1976. Their incendiary sound consisted of dueling guitar noise, scrapping garage bashing and Sonny Vincent's street poetry. Their earliest recordings are considerably tougher, louder and more desperate than any other music made at that time (or since). Testors were absolutely one of the most raw, catastrophic, and shocking bands to ever grace the stage of Max's Kansas City and CBGB's during the mid-70's punk heyday. Vincent has continued singing and playing electric guitar in live performances to enthusiastic audiences ever since. He has performed and recorded with members of The Stooges,The MC5, The Velvet Underground, Blondie, The New York Dolls, The Sex Pistols, The Damned, Husker Du, Television, Sonic Youth, The Voidoids, The Replacements, and The Dead Boys, amongst others. Vincent is the current subject of a forthcoming feature length film by Stiv Bators’ and Johnny Thunders’ documentarian, Danny Garcia.
